Virgona farm was created as the completion of a long oenological tradition while contributing to enhancing wine production on Salina given the economic, social, historic and cultural importance this industry has always had on the island. Along with wine, capers and caper berries are typical products from the island's agricultural civilization and the fruit from a land full of flavours and fragrances that the farm produces, thus contributing to spreading its gastronomical culture. Daniela Virgona's family-run farm production has been continuing the production tradition started by her father Enrico since 2003. One single hectare located amongst the mountains and sea and close to Malvasia vines produces about 25 quintals of valuable capers and caper berries.
